I have been a practicing artist and art teacher for more than 40 years.  I have taught studio art classes at various universities and community colleges including California State University Sacramento, San Jose State University, and University of California Davis. In 2010 my teaching career took me to Japan where I lived for ten years teaching American students digital art, video, and animation.  I also produced a student run weekly morning TV show at Yokosuka Middle School called YTV.
As a professional artist my work has been in numerous group and solo exhibitions, I was represented by Koplin Gallery in Santa Monica for 15 years.  I am in numerous private collections including the Kamm Teapot Foundation.  The inspiration for my art has always been my dreams.  I have kept a dream journal off and on for more than 40 years.
I graduated with honors with a B.A. in studio art education from U.C. Davis.  I have an MFA in studio art from U.C. Berkeley where I received a Graduate Research Grant, a Graduate Fellowship Grant, and a Mabel Tombs Award.  I also received more recently an M.A. from Sacramento State University in Multimedia Education.  My favorite art teachers and mentors were Joan Brown, Wayne Thiebaud, Cornelia Shulz, Ralph Johnson, Roland Peterson, and Bob Arneson.
